Wet Paint: first Thirty Years' War figures

This is the first base (plus one officer of the next base) of pikemen for my new TYW project;

IMG 1436

They obviously belong to the Swedish Yellow Brigade, which is one of the units I'm modelling. More on this later, but in short my Yellow Brigade will consist of two units of three of these bases, plus about half as much again in musketeers. The figures are Warlord Games plastics (except for the officer and the leftmost—as seen from the base itself—pikeman in the front rank, which are metal).

Next in the painting queue are the first of the big box of the Reaper Bones Kickstarter which arrived this week :).

    What rules are you going to use?

  2. Hi Wim,

    probably Pike & Shot (Warlord) to begin with and for standard evening games. I'm also looking at Hakkaa Päälle, the Thirty Year's War expansion for Ga Pa, which is a very good historical GNW ruleset. The latter will be used for longer (because the rules aren't as fast as the Black Powder / Pike & Shot / Hail Caesar family), more 'seriously historical' games.
