Finally, all Charbens finished. Simple block colour scheme, matt varnish, then gloss varnish. The blend in nicely with the other toy soldiers in the wargaming room.
I "recovered" these Charbens figures from a garage sale ... they were crude (old dirty paintjob, flashlines ... ). But putting them next to my Ceremonal Britains gives them some additional value. Every time I visit London I bring back 1 or 2 Britains toy soldiers from Hamleys or a similar toy shop ... I started doing this 20 years ago, and the collections adds up over the years ...
Lovely restoration work .
ReplyDeleteThanks - although the plastic Charbens figures don;t have much detail compared to a wargaming figure ... so easy paintjob :-)
DeleteA very enjoyable series of posts!

DeleteOn your next trip to London check out the Guards Museum toy soldier shop http://www.theguardsmuseum.com/Guards-Shop
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that, several times actually :-) One of my sources for toy soldiers whenever I'm in London ...
